  • The coat-of-arms of Trenčianske Teplice symbolizes the legend of discovery of the curative spring: on the blue shield, under the golden star, on the golden green-sward stands a silver lamb.
  • The highest peak of Baske is connected with the beginnings of tourism in the region of Teplice in 1920 - 1921. The tourist hut on the peak of Baske is operated by the active Club of Slovak Tourists in Trenčianske Teplice.
  • Andrej Bagar, an actor and co-founder of the Slovak National Theatre, was born in Trenčianske Teplice, in 1900.

Art in the spa

From February to December, the town of Trenčianske Teplice offers to the spa guests various cultural events. The beginning of February is marked by the presentation of carnival traditions of the micro region of Tepličky. In May the Čapek’s Teplice is organized with the Czech writer Karl Čapek’s Awards. June and July are dedicated to the ART film, an important international film festival. The guests of the festival have been for example Geraldine Chaplin, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Vlastimil Brodský and also Liv Ullmann who stayed in the guest house. July and August are dedicated to musical summer, the oldest Festival of Chamber Music in central Europe. The festival of folk crafts is organized in August. October is the dancing month - the swing ball offers a unique atmosphere of music from the 1920s and 1930s. And at the end of the year the Teplice spa is full of Christmas atmosphere and hot toddy.
